Judy’s career has twice brought her
to St. Columba’s. From 1972 through 1983 (under the name Judy Breneman),
she built the music program establishing the choral foundation we have
today, introducing handbells and contracting for the Flentrop pipe
organ. Between 1983 and 1993, she served as Choral Director at Kalamazoo
College in Michigan and Music Director/Conductor of the Kalamazoo Bach
Festival and later as Organist and Music Director of St. Philip’s In The
Hills in Tucson, Arizona.
Along with responsibility for overall administration of the music
program, Judy plays the organ and directs the St. Columba Singers,
Ensemble Singers, Girl Choir and Girl Chapel Choir and St. Columba Iona
Ringers.
A past president of the Association of Anglican Musicians, Judy has
music degrees from the University of Colorado and San Francisco State
University, and has studied conducting with Helmut Rilling.
